Octopus’ Garden

Fresh Oyster

Assorted Sashimi

Uni (Sea Urchin) Nigiri Sushi

Had dinner at Octopus Garden in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. The sashimi was very fresh and the rolls were very unique. However, the restaurant is very small, so it’s hard to find seats. The restaurant is owned by Japanese, so the food and environment is very authentic. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but the quality is excellent. Overall, very satisfied!

Capstone Tea & Fondue

Brrrr… this bizarre cold weather in Vancouver calls for some warm desserts indoors! Capstone Tea & Fondue offers a variety of teas, bubble teas, and of course their famous fondues – chocolate or cheese! Me and my friend shared the Chocolate Fondue Set, which came with Dark Chocolate, Fresh Fruits, Snacks, and 6 Assorted Dipping Ice-cream Balls. I love the ice cream balls since the outside is covered in warm chocolate when you dip it in, and then it reveals the cold ice cream. Love it! This came to around $20. They also have an All You Can Eat Chocolate Fondue for $7.95 per person, but each person has to purchase a drink, so if you don’t eat a lot, I guess it isn’t that worth it. Capstone is on Robson, past the retail shops, also near WE. Coffee that I’ve mentioned before in my posts. Great place to chill indoors with some tasty desserts!

Seasonal Carpaccio

Premium Nigiri

Aburi Chicken

Assorted Tempura

Green Tea Tiramisu Pyramid

Green Tea Opera

Had dinner at Miku Restaurant, which is famous for their aburi dishes, meaning flame-seared. The ambiance is great and servers were professional. It’s located on West Hastings. The price is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food is excellent. Definitely try their unique aburi sushi rolls!

WE. Coffee

If you go down a little further past the retail shops at Robson, you’ll see WE. Coffee. It’s a little cafe that serves freshly roasted coffee, panini, croissant sandwiches, as well as their famous waffles and other cakes and desserts. I tried the Cappuccino as well as the Strawberries and Ice Cream Waffle here. The waffles were made perfectly with a golden crisp and the environment is very modern. They also offer magazines so you can read while you eat and chat with friends. Definitely a great hangout place for a small snack and drink!

Joey Burrard

Went to Joeys Restaurant at the Burrad location and decided to try the famous lava cake my friends were all praising about. It’s called the Molten Lava Chocolate Souffle on the menu and it’s a rich dark chocolate cake outside, with a soft molten lava centre and ice cream. Comes with a raspberry sauce on the side. Not too sweet, and the chocolate just melts out. Delicious!
